Incu 1976 Drop 02

More than just a clothing line, Incu 1976 functions as an autobiography for founders Vincent and Brian Wu. After championing over 600 brands since 2002, the brothers, who are consumers at heart, wanted to create directly for their own wardrobes.

While the debut season focused on a more tailored, refined approach to dressing, Drop 02 shifts the lens toward the uncomplicated, relaxed nature of the Australian lifestyle. "We wanted to focus on what we wear on an everyday basis," explains Vincent Wu. "It’s that laid-back ethos — someone waking up on the weekend, going to get a coffee, or walking the dog. It should never be complicated; you shouldn't have to think about it too much."

To capture this relaxed sensibility, the duo turned first to their own personal wardrobes - an archive built over decades of collecting and styling pieces they love to wear every day. Personal purchases provided the foundational references for their research and development, which they then complemented with sourcing trips through the vintage stores and streets of Tokyo’s Shibuya, Shimokitazawa and Harajuku districts. Together, this inspired a collection that modernises traditional Japanese tailoring for the Australian customer. This effortless approach comes to life in Brian's personal favourite, the Light Weight Workers Jacket designed for the unpredictable Australian climate, and Vincent’s hero, the Classic Stripe Shirt. "We worked incredibly hard on the exact wash and feel," Vincent notes. "We want these pieces to feel like they've been in your wardrobe for years, delivering the kind of subtle quality and value you appreciate more with every wear."

DENIM JEAN

"It's made with Japanese selvedge with off-white stitching and a single wash to soften the rigidness of raw denim. We built this jean the way we'd want to wear it — straight, clean, and easy from day one. We've included an elastic waist to add a little more comfort and a button fly like all traditional denim."

CLASSIC STRIPE SHIRT

"There's a particular kind of shirt that feels like it's always been in your wardrobe. That's what we chased with the wash here — lived-in from the first wear, not the fiftieth."

RELAXED MOLESKIN PANT

"We built these to blur the line between loungewear and going-out pants. A straight, easy fit in moleskin, so you're just as comfortable staying in as you are stepping out."

ANORAK JACKET

"We went back and forth a lot on the wash for this one because we wanted it a little uneven, a little patchy, so it feels like you've already had it for years. Zip it up to the neck when it's cold, or leave it open, either way it works."

LIGHT WEIGHT WORKERS JACKET

"We wanted a jacket that could do a blazer's job without ever feeling like one — lightweight, technical, easy to throw on whether you're heading into the office or out the door."
