Baum und Pferdgarten SS26: The Art of Arrangement with Tegan Paige

As a brand celebrated for its playful prints and vibrant optimism, Baum und Pferdgarten continues to innovate with a global audience showcasing a fresh take on contemporary Scandinavian style.

To mark the arrival of the Spring Summer 26 collection, we worked closely with the Baum und Pferdgarten team to bring an immersive pop-up activation to our QV and Galeries Women's stores, transforming the spaces into a floral-inspired sanctuary that captures the spirit of summertime in Copenhagen.

To bring this to life in our QV Melbourne store, we partnered with Tegan Paige from Honesty Flora, creating an installation that perfectly complemented the collection’s energy and bold contrasts.

We caught up with Tegan in her Collingwood studio to learn more about her creative process and her inspiration behind the installation.

Head into Incu QV on Saturday the 28th of February and Sunday the 1st of March for complimentary florals from Honest Flora with any purchase from the brand.

FOR THOSE WHO MAY NOT KNOW YOUR WORK YET, HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE HONESTY FLORA AND THE KIND OF STORIES YOU LIKE TO TELL THROUGH FLOWERS?

Honesty Flora is centred on thoughtfully curated flower arrangements that feel refined yet quietly unexpected. My work isn’t messy but intentional... I spend hours with each brief we’re fortunate to receive, carefully considering every detail, from the colour palette and what’s in season to the vessels that complete each arrangement. While the floral industry is inherently wasteful, sustainability remains an important part of my approach wherever possible. I hope this care is felt in the final work, alongside a sense of surprise that feels subtle and considered rather than overstated.

FLORISTRY FEELS BOTH INTUITIVE AND DEEPLY INTENTIONAL, WHAT DOES YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS LOOK LIKE?

Colour is really at the forefront of all my designs and is always where I will start. Coming from a design background, I think this has been engrained in me. Getting a colour palette right is so important to making work feel cohesive. Working with flowers is kind of like painting and the flowers are your paints. It’s therefore important to use your paints wisely. Once I have a strong idea of the palette, I work backwards from there, thinking about what’s in season and which flowers will best bring the brief together. When I’m creating for myself, or working with a more open brief, I get to have the most fun with colour and that’s usually when our best work is created.

YOUR WORK HAS SUCH A DISTINCT ENERGY. WHERE DO YOU TEND TO FIND INSPIRATION IN NATURE, ART, FASHION, OR SOMEWHERE ELSE ENTIRELY?

Nature is a constant source of inspiration for me, it feels limitless. I’m always discovering new varieties of flowers or even sometimes fruits or vegetables, and because my medium is ever-changing, that sense of discovery never fades. I’m equally drawn to art. Observing how others interpret colour and form, and how they choose to see the world, will always be inspiring.

ARE THERE CERTAIN FLOWERS OR TEXTURES YOU FIND YOURSELF RETURNING TO AGAIN AND AGAIN, AND WHAT IS IT ABOUT THEM THAT RESONATES?

I can’t help but keep returning to carnivorous plants, they’ve almost become a signature in my work, and we often get requests for them. I’m utterly fascinated by them; there’s truly nothing else like them. I feel very lucky to have a special relationship with the largest grower in Victoria, from whom I’ve learned so much. They’re otherworldly and I adore them. That said, I’m also drawn to unusual orchids for the same reason and in complete contrast, my all-time favourite flower is a peony, completely classic, and maybe a little basic of me. There is seriously nothing more beautiful than a perfectly open peony.

WITH BAUM UND PFERDGARTEN’S SPRING/SUMMER 26 COLLECTION IN STORE, WERE THERE ANY PIECES THAT IMMEDIATELY CAUGHT YOUR EYE OR FELT ALIGNED WITH YOUR AESTHETIC?

I love a more tailored look and was instantly drawn to the Aneva Dress. She is the perfect length and perfect tone of grey. I also love that she is sewn from recycled nylon. In a world which thrives on fast fashion it is so nice to be able to choose pieces that are made out of sustainable materials.

WHAT DOES A PERFECT DAY IN MELBOURNE LOOK LIKE FOR YOU WHEN YOU’RE NOT SURROUNDED BY BLOOMS?

The perfect day starts slowly, a sleep-in and coffee in bed with my fiancé and our dog, Floyd. Mid-morning we’d take Floyd for a relaxed stroll through Fitzroy Gardens with a bagel from our faves Massels in toe. When I have a free afternoon, I love spending time exploring the latest exhibitions at the NGV or Heide Museum. I love hospitality almost as much as flowers, so the day naturally ends either at one of our favourite local restaurants; The Pontian Club, Da Paolo or Cams or gathered around the table at home, hosting friends.
