Junya Watanabe launched his eponymous line in conjunction with Comme des Garcons in 1993 after working as a designer for the brand prior. Watanabe's designs reference punk and romantic aesthetics and the method of deconstruction. A refined re-imagination of the white-button shirt, the Cotton Oxford Multi Fabrics Shirt blends crisp cotton Oxford with a geometric patchwork of corduroy, flannel and check shirting across the chest—bringing texture and distinction to a wardrobe classic. The base is pure cotton poplin and the fit remains clean and straightforward, making it as versatile as it is considered.
