In the spirit of keeping connected while apart, we caught up with Brendan, Incu’s Paddington men’s store manager, who’s delved deep into the practice of yoga, self-care and the best at-home workouts.

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m the Paddington Incu Manager.

What have you been up to since the lockdown began?

I’ve still been working a bit in the background helping to try and get all of our online orders out in time. I’m somewhat of a home body as it is, and I like to start my day with some Yoga and lots of coffee. I’m always trying to set up the day with a good headspace. My cloud of a dog, Sumo, is loving going on an extra walkie every day and chasing me around the back courtyard during some arvo cardio sessions.

I’m really grateful to have such a supportive home network, two affectionate animals in the house for a cuddle and free time to cosy up with a herbal tea and a good book. I’ve really smashed through my to-read pile in the corner of my room. I’m currently reading Dance Dance Dance by Haruki Murakami.

Some records I have on high rotation in the morning during Yoga and chill time:

- Peripheral Vision by Turnover

- Disintegration by The Cure

- Only Boundaries by Balance and Composure

- The Smiths by The Smiths

- Sometimes by City and Colour

- Tigers Jaw by Tigers Jaw

My top picks for the afternoon workouts are:

- The Things We Carry by Have Heart

- One With The Underdogs by Terror

- Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5

- Void of Confusion by Warbrain

- Demo 19 by Speed (Aaron from customer care’s band)

- The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest

I’ve also been following what some of my favourite local creatives have been doing during this time:

@emilyjanetattoo

@silverandcoldjewellery

@nicole_draeger

@gingertaylorartist

@cheriebuttons

@jeswri

@_communique

@edgilj

@stellarleuna

@kbiljuh

Brendan talked us through his top picks, with a mix of household names like Patagonia, Acne Studios, Comme Des Garcons, and French favourites A.P.C. As a self-proclaimed Nike head, Bren’s been collecting sneakers for eighteen years, so it’s no surprise that Nike made an appearance on his list. “Find a comfier footbed… I’ll wait.”

All about quality, fit and fabric, Bren’s selection is a specially curated range of his favourites from the Incu online store.
