Brand in Focus: Bode

When Emily Adams Bode founded her eponymous menswear label, Bode (pronounced Boh-dee), she did so with the intention of expressing a sentimentality for the past through her creations. Through the study of both personal narratives and historical techniques, Bode is able to create clothing which is a bold collision of modern workwear silhouettes and female-centric traditions like quilting and mending. Bode’s obsession with vintage textiles is the backbone of the brand, with each and every piece being tailor-made and steeped in history. Her love of antiques was sewn deep from an early age – Bode comes from a rich line of antique collectors. Growing up she would tag along to flea markets and antique stores with her family, sparking her curiosity at an early age.
Season after season Bode continues to reinvigorate American menswear through the art of storytelling –– it's no wonder Bode is already well on her way to building her legacy. Keep an eye out for patchwork heavy, heirloom pieces hitting Incu shelves now.
The brand began with a collection of one-of-a-kind garments composed entirely of antique textiles and continues to reinvigorate American menswear through the art of storytelling.
A huge part of my brand is archiving.
